There was plenty to celebrate as our Valley BMC - Division 1 notched a win over Ipswich BMC - Division 1 at Ray Walker Oval (Ivor Marsden 1) on Sunday.
Ipswich BMC - Division 1 set the target, making 10/170 from 49.4 overs. Fifty for Alby Galbraith, who made 52 for our opponents. Charlie Towers was the pick of the bowlers, taking two for 19 off nine overs.
In reply, the group reached the target at 9/171 in 47.1 overs. Harry Weibgen made a superb 54 not out off 82 balls, a well-made fifty. Andy Mercer weighed in with 28 off 67 balls. Credit to Dominic Seaby, who claimed a five-wicket haul (five for 28) for the hosts.
It was a brilliant all-round effort, with contributions from right through the line-up. That's three wins on the trot for the side. Onwards and upwards.
