Saturday didn't go our way, as our Valley Mens 2nd Grade were downed by South Brisbane Mens 2nd Grade at Norman Gray Oval.
South Brisbane Mens 2nd Grade's innings ended at 274, ours at 10/212. John Joyce made a brilliant 54 off 88 balls, a well-made fifty. Benjamin Ferguson also got among the runs with 49 off 68 balls. William Nickelson weighed in with 48 off 48 balls. A five-wicket haul to Matthew Harvie for our opponents (five for 37). Will Storrs backed up with three for 48 for the hosts.
Joseph Pratt was the pick of our bowlers with three for 26. Samuel Lewis claimed three for 51 as well. Daniel Gray made a stylish 102 not out for our opponents, a century worth applauding. There were 41 from Storrs for the hosts.
Credit to our opponents, who played well.
A tough stretch, and one the side will be determined to end. Thanks to the hosts for the contest.
