It was a disappointing outing for our Valley Mens 5th Grade, who came off second best against Western Suburbs (1) Mens 5th Grade on a day that didn't go our way.
Western Suburbs (1) Mens 5th Grade's innings closed at 6/211 from 40 overs. Owen Thompson top-scored for our opponents with 40. Connor Ferguson grabbed two for 48.
In reply, the team were all out for 174 in 39.3 overs. Elliott Shepherd top-scored with 33 off 34 balls. William Towers added a useful 32 off 55 balls. Steve Gramenz was the best of the hosts' bowlers, finishing with three for 19.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one. The side will be keen to turn things around after two straight losses. We'll go again.
