It was one to learn from for our Valley Womens 1st Grade, who were bettered by Gold Coast Womens 1st Grade in one to put behind us.
After batting first, we finished on 188 from 48.5 overs. Kira Holmes played a good hand of 43 off 36 balls. Solid support came from Ayla Johnson, who made 32. There were also handy runs from Jessica Crighton (30). Uditi Ratnala was the best of Gold Coast Womens 1st Grade's bowlers, finishing with three for 32.
The visitors reached the target at 5/189 in 42.4 overs. Lindsay Vilas Boas made a good 59 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century. Fifty for Rebecca Duckworth, who made 54 not out for the visitors. Emma Swanepoel led the way with the ball, finishing with two for 48.
There were some classy individual efforts to build on.
Chins up, everyone.
