It was a great day for our Valley Womens 1st Grade, who defeated Western Suburbs Womens 1st Grade thanks to Ella Harvey's 39.
We batted first and finished with 172 on the board from 45.4 overs. Ella Harvey top-scored, making 39 off 82 balls. Caitlin Lutvey was the best of Western Suburbs Womens 1st Grade's bowlers, finishing with three for 21. Filippa SueSee picked up three for 37 for the hosts.
We bowled our opponents out for 164 in 49.2 overs. Rebecca Storrs passed fifty for the hosts, finishing with 79. Ella Phillips bowled superbly for a five-wicket haul, five for 30 off 9.2 overs.
A well-deserved victory for the girls.
The win was extra sweet after our opponents got the better of us earlier in the season. Well done, team.
