It was a satisfying day for our Valley Mens 6th Grade, who got past South Brisbane Mens 6th Grade at Jack Cooke Oval.
Across the match we made 10/160 and 3/58, with South Brisbane Mens 6th Grade on 10/135 and 9/162. Fifty for Stan Ashwin, who finished with 77 not out off 94 balls. Adam Johansen also got among the runs with 38 off 53 balls. Johansen chipped in with 32. Patrick Gibson was the pick of the hosts' bowlers with four for 45.
Lachlan Andersen was the hero with the ball, claiming a five-wicket haul (five for 49). Five wickets for Harrison Willis, who returned five for 59 off twenty overs. Michael Singh made a polished 65 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century. Musashi Fujihara weighed in with 45 for the hosts.
It was a brilliant all-round effort, with contributions from right through the line-up. Two wins on the trot now for the team.
Congratulations to the boys on a cracking result.
