It was a day to regroup for our Valley A2, who lost their match against Cleveland Cougars A2 by eight wickets at North Oval.
Batting first, the side were all out for 141 in 31.5 overs. Andy Mercer's 60 off 61 balls was a half-century to remember. Brock Balcombe returned four for 10 for Cleveland Cougars A2.
The visitors reached the target at 2/142 in 24.2 overs. Balcombe passed fifty for our opponents, finishing with 74 not out. Lachlan Dahler weighed in with 41 for the visitors.
There were some stylish individual efforts to build on. The results haven't gone our way lately, but the group will keep at it.
The team will be keen to bounce back.
