There was plenty to celebrate as our Valley Mens 1st Grade got the better of Sunshine Coast Mens 1st Grade away from home.
In terms of totals, it was Valley Mens 1st Grade 9/148 and 10/196 and Sunshine Coast Mens 1st Grade 10/115 and 7/100. A classy 76 off 102 balls from Hugh Weibgen was the highlight. Tighe Morris's 50 off 65 balls was a half-century to remember. Dylan McLachlan made 40 off 63 balls. Credit to Chad Soper, who claimed a six-wicket haul (six for 61) for our opponents. There were four for 81 for Soper.
Cameron Boyce bowled well for a five-wicket haul, five for 30 off thirteen overs. Joseph Pratt bowled nicely for a five-wicket haul, five for 31 off 10.5 overs. The hosts' best was a half-century from Nicholas Fletcher, who made 57 not out.
Big runs from our top order made the difference.
Well done, team.
