It was a disappointing outing for our Valley Womens 1st Grade, who were beaten by Western Suburbs Womens 1st Grade in Womens Competitions.
After batting first, we finished on 158 from 50 overs. Lucinda Bourke's 43 off 59 balls was the highlight with the bat. Grace Abdy carried on to an unbeaten 23 off 64 balls. Ayaka Stafford did the damage for Western Suburbs Womens 1st Grade with three for 21.
The visitors reached the target at 5/162 in 35.3 overs. Georgia Redmayne made a polished 71 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century. Ella Phillips starred with the ball, taking two for 33.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again. It's been a tough run, and we'll be working hard to turn it around. Chins up, everyone.
