It was a good day out for our Valley Mens 1st Grade, who got the win against University of Queensland Mens 1st Grade for a cracking result.
Batting first, we posted 8/262 from 50 overs. Josh Neill made an excellent 83 off 109 balls, a well-made fifty. Dylan McLachlan posted a half-century, making 70 off 101 balls with two fours. Freddie Wallis chipped in with 39.
In reply, University of Queensland Mens 1st Grade finished on 6/251 from 50 overs. Will Sanders posted 89 not out for our opponents, a classy fifty. Alecz Day chipped in with 45 for the hosts. Cameron Boyce was the pick of the bowlers, taking two for 33 off ten overs.
A well-deserved victory for the boys. Two wins on the trot now for the team. That makes up for our loss to our opponents earlier in the season. Great work, everyone.
