It was a day to regroup for our Valley BMC - Div 1, who lost their match against Scorchers U17 BMC away from home.
After batting first, we finished on 10/211 from 49.2 overs. A classy 53 off 69 balls from Ryan Arthur was the highlight. Isaiah Wijemanne passed fifty on the way to 50 off 77 balls with four fours. Credit to Joshua Allen, who took three for 42 for Scorchers U17 BMC.
In reply, our opponents passed our total, finishing on 7/212 in 44.2 overs. The hosts' best was a half-century from Henry Crook, who made 75 not out. Charlie Barnett was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 43 off ten overs. There were also wickets for Tarkyn Howard (two for 25).
Not our day, but there's plenty to work with. The results haven't gone our way lately, but the group will keep at it.
Congratulations to our opponents on the win.
